Kane rounds off memorable week with hat-trick to move top of goalscoring charts

HARRY KANE SCORED a hat-trick as Tottenham held off a resiliant Leicester City side keep their top-four hopes alive on Saturday.

The 21-year-old, who was called-up to the senior England side for the first time on Thursday, scored twice within the opening 13 minutes to put his side into a commanding lead.

However, bottom-of-the-table Leicester fought back through Jamie Vardy and Wes Morgan either side of half-time as the hosts struggled to contain the lively Foxes.

With Leicester in the ascendency with game turned again as David Nugent felled Danny Rose inside the area and Kane cooly slotted home to become the Premier League top scorer with his 19th goal of the season.

Spurs had chances to wrap up the win, with Nacer Chadli missing two when in good positions, and scored again when Christian Eriksen’s effort rebounded off Kasper Schmeichel and Jeffrey Schlupp for an own-goal.

And there was still time for Nugent to partially make amends for his earlier mistake with a smart finish in the last minute, but Spurs held out for all three points.
