Tour de France cyclist stops to use fan's camper van for emergency toilet break

When you’ve gotta go, you’ve gotta go.

MANY TOUR DE FRANCE enthusiasts set up their camper vans and cars along the stage route hours before the leading cyclists zip by.

Many while shout themselves hoarse as the competitors pass while a few will shuffle out to offer water, pats on the back or a shove in the right direction. A set of fans were delighted, however, to welcome French cyclist Arnaud Demare into their camper van during Saturday’s 14th stage.

The FDJ cyclist was having a queasy day in the saddle when he happened upon an inviting camper van on the road-side. Demare emerged moments later and finished the stage, ensuring he is still in contention to finish up in Paris next weekend.

Following the stage, Demare tweeted out his gratitude to the fans and remarked that, in cycling, there are no half-time or dressing rooms when nature calls.

Meanwhile, Norwegian cyclist Alexander Kristoff won an exciting sprint finish to capture Stage 15. Peter Sagan, once again, and André Greipel were among those denied by Kristoff’s late, powerful burst.

Vincenzo Nibali finished just back from the sprinters but lost no time. He continues to lead Alejandro Valverde by 4:37. Nicolas Roche finished over three minutes back today and slipped back to 48th in the GC.
