Faces of Cork

Travelling through Cork Airport? Let Hook, Zebo and O’Herlihy welcome you

And there’s something in it for two charities too.

THIS IS THE face that is greeting visitors to Cork Airport right now.

This one is there too.

Oh, and this guy.

The images (no, the men aren’t there in person unfortunately) were placed at the airport earlier this week as part of a charity exhibition.

‘Faces of Cork’ features some of Cork’s best-known personalities and sports stars – Ronan O’Gara, Derval O’Rourke and Peter O’Learly – as well as some ‘ordinary’ Corkonians from all walks of life.

The portraits were shot by five photographers in recent months as part of a fundraising initiative organised by aerial photographer Dennis Horgan. The two charities that will benefit are Haven and Marymount Hospice .

Haven founder and Chairman Leslie Buckley said: “Haven is delighted to be part of Faces of Cork. Cork’s beauty is not only reflected in its stunning scenery but also in its people.”

Kevin O’Dwyer, chief executive officer of Marymount Hospice said the project has the potential to promote and celebrate Cork “in an imaginative and positive way”. Collection boxes and posters connected with the exhibition have been placed across the city.

The images will remain at the airport until September.
