GOOD EVENING

The 5 at 5 5 minutes, 5 stories, 5 o’clock…

EVERY EVENING, TheJournal.ie brings you the five big news stories you need to know before you head out the door.

1. #CLOVERHILL: A protest has seen men climb onto the roof of Cloverhill prison and and refuse to come down. It is thought that there were 60 men in the yard at the time the protest began, with 10 and the centre of it and two out of the group making their way onto the roof.

2. #BANKING INQUIRY: Former Tánaiste Mary Harney and former leader of the Green Party John Gormley have been appearing before the banking inquiry.

3. #LIMERICK: Ireland’s biggest film and television studio is set to open in Limerick.

4. #TALIBAN: A man who was believed to be the head of the Taliban may have been already dead for a number of years (it’s all a bit confusing).

5. #CECIL THE LION: An American dentist who shot and killed a lion with a crossbow is set to appear before a Zimbabwean court.
