WELL FOLKS, the madness of the summer transfer window returns and as of yesterday, clubs are officially able to get the cheque book out and bolster their squad ahead of the new season.

Nou deal: Any hope clubs had of luring Jordi Alba away from Barcelona have ended with the defender signing a new deal at the Camp Nou. His buyout clause is a staggering €150 million.

Free agent: Liverpool are set to open talks with James Milner this week with The Telegraph reporting a verbal agreement has been reached between both parties.

Pole position: Man United are confident of convincing Dani Alves to move to Old Trafford when the defender becomes a free agent after the Champions League final, according to the Guardian.

French revelation: Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko has issued a ‘come and get me plea’ to Chelsea by insisting Jose Mourinho has been keeping a close eye on him.

Want away: Christian Benteke has refused to be drawn on his Villa future with reports suggesting his £32.5 million release cause is too steep for Liverpool. The striker says ‘my agent knows what I want’.

He’s a keeper: Hugo Lloris has denied there is a £14.5 million release clause in his Tottenham contract amid mounting speculation that Man United are lining up the French international as a replacement for David de Gea.

Clever business: Everton are the favourites to secure the services of Tom Cleverley after the midfielder enhanced his reputation with Aston Villa during the latter half of the season.

Isco fever: Reports in Spain say Manuel Pellegrini wants to bring his former Malaga playmaker, Isco, to the Ethiad this summer. The 23-year-old is under contract at Madrid until 2018 but when has that ever stopped a club?

Deal breaker: Ilkay Gundogan was in talks with Bayern Munich over the weekend but German newspaper Bild is now reporting any potential deal is off. We can’t handle such drama at this stage of the summer.
