Mini makeover for TV3 with new documentary unit and evening show

Midweek and FYI have been dumped to make way for the new shows.

TV3 HAS ANNOUNCED some changes to programming including a new documentary unit and a new prime time evening show.

The evening show will air in January 2015 and will be anchored by a new name that has yet to be revealed.

It will report on stories from around the country and have special guests each night.

TV3’s Midweek will be replaced to make way for a new Public Affairs Documentary Unit which will produce current affairs and ‘topical programming’.

The Midweek team will be incorporated into both the new News and Public Affairs Documentary Unit and TV3’s new early evening programme.

Meanwhile TV3′s sister channel 3e will replace its 30-minute daily news programme‘fyi’ with 60 second news bulletins throughout the day which will be called ‘The Thread’.

The announcements come in advance of the station’s autumn launch later this year, at which TV3 will have a number of new announcements to make.
