Customers refunded after Ulster Bank ATM glitch

ATM withdrawals earlier in the week had been duplicated but the bank said this issue has now been resolved.

ULSTER BANK HAS said today that all customers affected by a glitch in its ATM system at the start of this week should now have received a refund in their account.

The issue, which affected Northern Ireland customers only, meant double the amount was subtracted from customers’ accounts than they actually took out in cash.

The bank was hit by a number of technical problems in December with some customers locked out of their accounts and earlier in the month being unable to withdraw cash from ATMs.

Ulster Bank has apologised for the inconvenience of this latest glitch and said it was working yesterday to correct it and restore money to accounts.

This morning a spokesperson told TheJournal.ie that money had been refunded overnight but any customer who has not been repaid should get in touch.
