Ulster Says Sorry

Ulster Bank says problems have been resolved

The company says that the issues stemmed from an IT problem at their parent company.

THE IT PROBLEMS that left hundreds of thousands of Ulster Bank customers unable to access their accounts have been solved, the bank says.

Ulster Bank say that the problem stemmed from an IT malfunction at their sister bank, Natwest.

Royal Bank of Scotland, the parent company of both banks released a statement on Twitter, saying that the problems had been solved.

The IT failure came on Cyber Monday – traditionally the busiest online shopping day of the year.

It also comes just a year after Ulster Bank experienced IT issues that led to some people being unable to access their accounts for up to a month.

Last night, it was reported that customers were having problems withdrawing cash from ATMs, using debit and credit cards and accessing their online account information.

RBS said that while Natwest was hit, Ulster Bank was “partly affected”.

It has offered to compensate customers who are left out of pocket.
