UTV Ireland's first news bulletin aired this evening - how was it?

The reaction has been largely quite good.

UTV IRELAND HAS had people talking since its launch on New Year’s Day.

While it has not always been for the right reasons, the station today launched its news programme, Ireland Live.

The show airs at 6.30pm, an hour after TV3 and into the second half of RTÉ’s Six One.

Anchored by Alison Comyn, today’s inaugural broadcast has received a largely warm welcome from viewers.

There was a hairy moment for Political Editor Mary Regan, when a van interrupted her piece to camera outside Government Buildings.

And, as always, you can’t please everyone.
