The QPR midfielder claims the Wolves man ‘tries to hurt people’.

CONTROVERSIAL QPR MIDFIELDER Joey Barton has continued his bizarre verbal war with Wolves’ Karl Henry.

In the latest of a series of digs at the Wolves midfielder, Barton told Sky Sports’ Goals on Sunday that “he really doesn’t like” Henry and claimed the midfielder “tries to hurt people”.

The pair previously had a run-in last year during a Newcastle-Wolves match, and they clashed again during QPR’s game with Wolves on Saturday.

Barton recommenced their war of words on Twitter later that day, bragging about his side’s 3-0 victory over Henry’s Wolves and claiming: “Wasn’t happy another player tried to cause an injury when the game nearly over. Just cos he’s inferior in every way #mug.

Speaking on Sky Sports, he added:

“I’ve made challenges and I embrace the fact that there is a physical element to our game, but I think there is a fine line between being physical and actually going out to hurt people, to make a name for it.”
“No one knew Kelvin [sic] Henry before he started kicking lumps out of me in that game [last season].”

The QPR midfielder’s career has been embroiled in controversy.

Earlier this year, he was forced to leave Newcastle after criticising the club’s owners on Twitter.

He has also consistently provoked controversy on the pitch, admitting he went down easily to get Gervinho sent off earlier in the season.
