WATCH: Karim Benzema scores glorious volley against Osasuna

Real would go on to win the match 5-1, with Ronaldo and Gonzalo Higuain each scoring twice, as they maintained their lead over Barcelona at the top of La Liga.

Barca, meanwhile, completed a routine 2-0 lead against Athletic Bilbao.

Andres Iniesta opened the scoring before Lionel Messi got back to within one goal of Ronaldo in the scoring charts with a penalty.
