ARSENAL LEGEND THIERRY Henry broke down in tears at the unveiling of his statue outside the Emirates Stadium, as Arsenal celebrated its 125th anniversary.
The club’s all-time leading goalscorer may have left the club for Barcelona in 2007 but his 174 goals in 254 games makes him a god amongst the North London club’s support. His statue was one of three, along with those of Tony Adams and Herbert Chapman.
With Arsene Wenger looking on, Henry – draped in an Arsenal scarf – gave an emotional speech before his voice cracked and he looked away, clearly letting the significance of the dedication get to him.
