The Best Thing We Shared
There was a minute’s applause ahead of yesterday’s thrilling All-Ireland Dublin-Kerry semi-final for the late ‘Batman’ Ben Farrell – the brave five-year-old Finglas boy who recently passed away after he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Wilms Tumour last December.
Afterwards, Dublin GAA star Philly McMahon also paid tribute to Farrell on Twitter, with a post of him wearing a Batman t-shirt, in which he added: “The little batman was watching over us! #batmanben”
On The Record
“The last week has been very positive from everybody in terms of the messages I’m getting from people that I played with — friends and family — and I haven’t really reflected on it. I’m not one of these people to reflect on things until it’s finished. Come Wednesday when that curtain finally closes, I’ll look back and say ‘you know what, you did okay Rob’.”
Robbie Keane discussed his career with Ireland out in Abbotstown today.
