Unbreakable: The Mark Pollock Story (RTÉ 1, 9.35pm)

Inspiring documentary showcasing the enduring spirit of athlete and author Mark Pollock. After losing his sight at 22, Pollock didn’t let it hold him back, and became the first blind person to race to the South Pole. Life threw him another curve-ball four weeks before his wedding, when he fell from a second story window which left him paralysed from the waist down. This documentary charting his journey through rehabilitation and search for a cure, is a must-watch.

Republic of Telly (RTÉ 2, 10pm)

It’s the Christmas special tonight, and will feature Bridget and Eamonn in their own little Nativity. Sure it’s gas, sure isn’t it.

Notting Hill (UTV, 11.15pm)

Hugh Grant plays a bookstore owner who has his life completely changed when a Hollywood superstar walks into his shop and takes a liking to him. But you already knew that. She’s just a girl, standing in front of a guy…

Everybody’s talking about…. Mark Wright wins The Apprentice

Last night, Lord Sugar chose Mark Wright to be his new business partner, making him winner of the 2014 Apprentice.

He and his business idea Climb Online–an internet marketing agency–were up against Bianca Miller and her idea to produce tights for a variety of different skin tones.

Australian Mark eventually took the £250,000 investment after beating his nerves and giving an impressive pitch to industry experts.

Building Ireland (RTÉ 1, 8.30pm) For those of you who love a bit of architecture, the 19th century banking halls of Dame Street are the subject of tonight’s investigation.

Gadget Man’s Guide to Christmas (Channel 4, 8pm) Richard Ayoade shows us how to enjoy Christmas with some neccesary gadgets, along with Jonathan Ross and Stephen Merchant.

Dirty Dancing (TV 3, 9pm) Because you can’t not watch it.

Shaft (RTÉ 2, 12am) Riiiiight on.
