Switzerland are taking on Poland in the first knockout round game.

THE KNOCKOUT STAGE is up and running at Euro 2016 as Poland take on Switzerland in the day’s first game.

The Poles seemed set to take the victory after Jakub Blaszczykowski gave them a first-half lead but with just eight minutes of normal time remaining, up stepped Xherdan Shaqiri with one of the best goals of the tournament.

He flung himself in the air to acrobatically whip a superb overhead kick to the net, via the inside of the near post.

What an incredible strike and the two teams are currently deadlocked in extra time.
