RIO FERDINAND MAY be hobbling through, potentially, his final season with Manchester United but he has not lost any of his ‘brap braaap’ swagger.

The United defender will line-up against Liverpool this afternoon and do battle with a player that has raised his bile on a few occasions since he arrived in the Premier League from Ajax – Luis Suarez.

Ferdinand spoke during the week about his ambitions to become the first black James Bond.

The cameras were not rolling on the former England international — this was not the comeback of his prank show ‘Merked’.

We at TheScore.ie are still getting used to the idea of Daniel Craig swanning around as Bond in torso-asphyxiating swimming trunks but Rio got us thinking.

Resident Photoshop expert Steve O’Rourke was deployed to his lab/bedroom for 72 hours and, with the help of too many others, he created an ultimate James Bond cast-list of United and Liverpool players.

When it came to the arch-villain there could only be one man to pose dastardly intentions to Rio ’007′ Ferdinand – Liverpool’s Uruguayan goal-getter Suarez.

Back in the world of football, Ryan Giggs – a man who could easily play Bond – has told the Sunday People that he would be happy to sit down with Alex Ferguson at the end of the season to discuss a new contract. He is in no rush.

Giggs said, “I am cool with that. I am enjoying my football at the moment, but the end of the season is a few months away and you never know what will happen.”

*We will be liveblogging Manchester United v Liverpool from 1pm today.
