Louth GAA club to mark anniversary of Detective Adrian Donohoe's death with candlelight walk

Donohoe was shot dead on January 25th last year during a robbery at the Lordship Credit Union.

A LOUTH GAA club are set to mark the first anniversary of the death of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe this weekend with a candlelight walk.

Detective Donohoe was shot dead on January 25th last year during a robbery while on duty at the Lordship Credit Union in Louth.

He was a member of the local St Patrick’s Gaelic football club and the club will mark the first anniversary of his tragic death this Saturday.

The St Patrick’s club have revealed details on their Facebook page of the event which will remember their ‘dear player and mentor’.

People are invited to assemble at Lordship Credit Union, Bellurgan at 9.15pm on Saturday night for ‘a short period of silence and reflection’.

This will then be followed by a candlelight walk from there to St Patrick’s club grounds in Lordship where tea and sandwiches will be served.

A shuttle bus service will be available to and from St Patrick’s club and Lordship Credit Union.
