AIDEN MCGEADY IS reportedly undergoing a medical at Sheffield Wednesday this evening ahead of a possible loan move.
The Ireland winger has featured just once for the Toffees this season, in the Capital One Cup back in August, and is set to leave in search first team football with Euro 2016 four months away.
La Liga side Sevilla were linked with the 29-year-old earlier this week but Everton boss Roberto Martinez has revealed that two Championship clubs have agreed terms.
“It seems very close,” said Martinez. “We’ve agreed terms with two teams in the Championship. It’s just a matter of time before one of the deals is clinched.
Aiden needs to play and it’s a really good opportunity for him to do that in a very demanding fixture list for a team that can get a really good tempo into Aiden for the Euros.
“That will make sure he comes back having had a good period of football and of having an impact for whichever team he joins.”
And both Sky Sports and local reporter Dom Howson are reporting that McGeady is in Sheffield tonight.
The Owls, who lost 3-2 to Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup yesterday, are currently seventh in England’s second tier.
