IT WAS A day which will live long in the memory of every Tipperary supporter as the county’s footballers pulled off a stunning win to advance to the All-Ireland semi-finals.

In truth, the man-of-the-match award could have gone to any of Liam Kearns’ players but it was Michael Quinlivan who was singled out for particular praise on The Sunday Game.

Quinlivan finished the game with 1-4 to his name but his overall performance saw him emerge as the strongest candidate to win the man-of-the-match award, pipping his captain Peter Acheson.

In the first of today’s quarter-finals, Kerry saw off the challenge of Clare at Croke Park as they strolled into the last four.

Darran O’Sullivan and Shane Enright were both nominated but the award went to Mark Griffin.
