All scrubbed up and ready to go

Groundsmen erect the first goalposts in the Aviva Stadium before Saturday’s opening game.

THE FIRST GOALPOSTS have been erected in the Aviva Stadium ahead of the first match to be played at the stadium this Sunday.

Preparation continues in the stadium today for Saturday’s O2 Challenge, when a combined Leinster and Ulster team take on an amalgamated Connacht and Munster team.

Tickets, at €10, are still available from the IRFU.

The first soccer match at the new €410m arena takes place on Wednesday 4th, when an Airtricity League XI take on Manchester United.
