Sensational Schürrle flays Fulham with handsome hat-trick

The German has Jose Mourinho’s side on course to stretch their league lead.

CHELSEA STRETCHED THEIR Premier League lead over the chasing pack after Andre Schürrle scored a fantastic hat-trick in a 3-1 triumph over Fulham.

Jose Mourinho’s side went 1-0 up after Schürrle guided a Branislav Ivanovic throw-in to teammate Eden Hazard and sprinted up the right wing. Hazard dinked a beautiful pass over the Fulham defence, the German nodded the ball on and coolly slotted home.

Hazard turned provider 10 minutes later to make it 2-0 and rounded off his hat-trick with 15 minutes to go when Fernando Torres played him through on goal. Jonny Heitinga got a goal back for Felix Magath’s men, following a corner kick, to make it 3-1 going into the closing stages.

With Arsenal losing 1-0 away to Stoke and Manchester City in League Cup action on Sunday, Chelsea have stretched their league lead to four points.
