ANDY MURRAY BREEZED through to the quarter-finals of the Paris Masters this morning with a ridiculously ruthless 6-1 6-0 victory over David Goffin.
But he did suffer a minor embarrassment.
Taking his seat after finishing a game, the British number one collected his thoughts and had a swig of water before a tennis ball came from nowhere and smacked him in a rather sensitive part of his body.
Rather inevitably, Murray was a bit stunned as he let out a ‘F**k’ and looked despairingly at the umpire who calmed him down by saying it was a mistake and wasn’t done on purpose by the ball-boy.
Though by the rather inexplicable nature of the hit (don’t ball-boys and ball-girls gently rolls tennis balls to each other along the ground?), maybe the youngster had a score to settle.
