Anthony Davis shows just why he's worth $145 million

And it’s not just because of his eyebrow.

YESTERDAY THE NEW Orleans Pelicans struck a deal with Anthony Davis locking him into a $145 million (€130.8 million) contract extension that starts in the 2016-2017 season.

$145 million is the largest contract number in NBA history, and Davis’ annual $29 (€26.17) million yearly average would be the highest in the NBA right now.

But is he worth it?

The answer is a rather emphatic yes.

Athletes of Davis’ shape and size aren’t supposed to be able to defend the paint — on his own — against an entire team of opponents as demonstrated in this video uploaded to social media last night.

Seven-footers are also not supposed to be able to go downtown — to quote Timmy McCarthy – at will from well outside the three-point line.

To top it all off, Davis was only seven months old when Michael Jordan first retired from basketball 22 years ago so — should he stay healthy — he has well over a decade to show us just how good he could become.

And it will be a lot of fun to watch:
