ANTONIO CONTE HAS dismissed the idea that he might name a weakened side when Italy take on Ireland next week.
Eder’s late strike gave the Azzurri a 1-0 win against Sweden earlier today and guaranteed their place in the last 16 with a game to spare.
Depending on the result of tomorrow’s meeting of Ireland and Belgium, Italy could still need a point from their final game to progress as Group E winners.
And while he may rest some of his star men, Conte made it clear that he will name a side capable of beating the Irish in Lille.
“We want to win the third match, I think that’s clear,” he said. “We’ve got so much hunger that we play to win and we want to win that third fixture.
“I’m not going to make wholesale changes. I’m going to pick a side that I think can win the match and I’m going to give the chance to those who deserve to show on the field what they are doing in training — the attitude they’re showing, the desire, the strength, both on and off the field.
“Yes, there will be some changes — but I’ll make changes in order to win the game.”
