Is a mini Arsenal reunion on the cards for one of the best ever Premier League full-backs?

Ashley Cole moved to Roma last year but has never properly settled.

ASHLEY COLE MAY be set for a reunion with an ex-Arsenal team-mate.

Rumours are circulating that the full-back, who turns 35 later this month, is about to bring his turbulent tenure in Serie A to an end and move to MLS side New York City FC.

From 1st January, Patrick Vieira will officially take over the franchise, who endured a disappointing debut campaign in the league and failed to make the play-offs despite having Frank Lampard, Andrea Pirlo and David Villa on the payroll.

Cole has been with Roma since last year but his last appearance came in March. There were whispers during the summer that the Italian giants wanted to cut the two-year contract short but despite being frozen out of the squad, the former England international has stayed put.

After leaving Chelsea, Cole had a number of offers from MLS but turned down the opportunity, later saying he ‘wasn’t ready to relax on a beach yet’.

With MLS supporters a hardcore bunch, they’ll certainly remember Cole’s comments if/when he turns up at NYC FC.
