A NEW FILM based on the famous 1973 ‘Battle of the Sexes’ tennis match is due to hit cinemas in Ireland later this year, and the first trailer has just been released.
The A-list cast features Emma Stone as Billie Jean King, and Steve Carrell as Bobby Riggs.
King, who was world number one at the time, was challenged by former Grand Slam champion Riggs to a $100,000 match which broke TV records as the most watched sporting event at the time.
