Leinster's departing centre Ben Te'o to be called up by England - reports

The 29-year-old could be included in Eddie Jones’ squad for the tour of Australia.

LEINSTER CENTRE BEN Te’o is in line to be included in England’s squad for their summer tour of Australia.

The Daily Mail reports the rugby league convert has been in regular contact with England head coach Eddie Jones as he prepares to move to Premiership side Worcester Warriors.

Te’o is leaving Leinster at the end of the season after arriving from Australia in 2014 and qualifies for England through his mother, who was born and raised there.

According to the reports, Jones has been advised that Te’o – who represented Samoa in league – has the potential to make a bigger impact for England than Sam Burgess.

The 29-year-old has previously expressed his desire to play international rugby and earlier this month admitted the deal offered by Worcester was too good to turn down.

Te’o has featured 16 times for Leo Cullen’s side in the Pro12 this season, scoring one try.

England travel to Australia in June to play three Test matches against the Wallabies.
