First and foremost, Martin and myself enjoy going to watch matches. It’s certainly not a PR exercise. We’re going because we enjoy watching League of Ireland players and we enjoy looking at players we think might and will get the opportunity to come into the senior squad. Your eyes don’t lie to you. When you’re watching a good player you’re watching a good player no matter what level he’s playing at.

The Fixture List

There are more Fitzgibbon Cup quarter-finals tomorrow – UL v IT Carlow, (University of Limerick, 1pm) and Limerick IT v UCD, (Limerick IT, 3pm). Champions League action continues in full swing with the last 16 first legs: it’s Real Madrid v Napoli and Bayern Munich v Arsenal.
