DEFENSIVE ERRORS ALLOWED Bohemians to capitalise in both halves, as they inflicted a 2-0 defeat on Sligo Rovers in front of a home crowd.

Dinny Corcoran and Keith Ward provided the goals with Ward opening their account inside the first 10 minutes of the game.

His shot from distance forced Sligo keeper Micheál Schlingermann to fumble the ball into the roof of his net and give Bohs the early lead.

Bohs had a chance to double their lead before the half-hour mark when Oscar Brennan got on the end of a corner, but the resultant shot tailed wide of the Sligo net.

The home side retained the lead until half-time, but Sligo could have levelled the tie before the end of the first period.

A diagonal ball from Regan Donelon found Raff Cretaro, but his first-time shot failed to reach the target.

Sligo endeavoured to snatch an equaliser after the restart with Liam Martin testing Bohs keeper Shane Supple on 77 minutes.

But it was the leading side who got the next score, with Dinny Corcoran extending Bohs’ lead in the 81st minute.

Corcoran capitalised on a second costly error in the Sligo defence to steer the ball home and secure all three points for Bohemians.
