Cabinteely FC have made an audacious approach for Yaya Toure

More PR perfection from the League of Ireland’s newest club.

THEY MIGHT BE currently in the bottom half of the SSE Airtricity League First Division table, but Cabinteely are certainly setting the pace when it comes to generating publicity.

The League of Ireland’s newest club have made a clever attempt to attract the attention of Manchester City star Yaya Toure, who’s being linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season.

Toure is celebrating his 32nd birthday today, so Cabinteely decided to use Twitter to send their best wishes to the Ivorian. Last year, Toure’s agent claimed that the midfielder wanted to leave City because the club forgot all about his birthday.

It’s not the first time that Cabinteely have put the social media platform to good use.

Earlier this month, the club also offered free entry to their game against Cobh Ramblers to anyone whose bet was ruined by John McKewon’s added-time equaliser against Finn Harps.
