Catherine Costigan begins her MMA world title journey in Vegas this week

The undefeated Limerick star is in action at Invicta FC 13.

– Paul Dollery reports from Las Vegas

AFTER A LAY-OFF of almost a year, one of Ireland’s top female mixed martial arts stars will be back in action tomorrow night.

Limerick’s Catherine Costigan returns to the cage for her Invicta Fighting Championships debut against American opponent Amber Brown in Las Vegas.

Competing in Vegas is a dream come true for the undefeated fighter, who’s aiming to earn an opportunity to fight for the Invicta atomweight belt before the year is out.

“Of course I want that world title,” Costigan told The42 yesterday in Vegas. “I want to at least be getting the shot at the end of the year if I can.”
