BARCELONA WERE EMPHATICALLY beaten 4-1 by Celta Vigo in La Liga last night.
The underdogs played some fantastic football during the match, with even Barca coach Luis Enrique afterwards admitting: “I prefer it when a team wins like Celta did, playing well. They’re one of the more attractive [teams].”
Yet for all Celta’s good play, there was also an element of cynicism to their performance, with defender Sergi Gomez clearly seen punching Luis Suarez towards the end of the game — an incident that was not spotted by the officials.
After the game, Gomez defended his actions, saying: “Hitting Suarez in the back? Those thing can happen, but I certainly didn’t want to hurt him.”
