PETERBOROUGH UNITED CHAIRMAN Darragh MacAnthony has been singing the praises of Irish midfielder Chris Forrester.

The Dublin-born entrepreneur, who oversaw Forrester’s move to the League One club from St Patrick’s Athletic for an undisclosed fee back in August, has hailed the 23-year-old as the best player he has ever signed.

When asked in a Twitter Q&A whether a Championship club would have to pay the Posh over £3 million to sign Forrester, MacAnthony answered: “Way, way over”, before adding that he is “priceless”.

In response to another fan, he also claimed Forrester is a better player than current Ireland international and Derby County midfielder Jeff Hendrick.

Forrester has clearly settled in well at the club, who sit sixth in League One, since leaving the SSE Airtricity League five months ago.

Often playing as a central midfielder, the former Bohemians man has made 23 appearances in all competitions — scoring two goals and providing two assists.

Back in October, manager Graham Westley said of Forrester: “There’s so much Michael Carrick in him it’s scary.”
