IN HIS DEBUT CAMPAIGN with Jagiellonia Bialystok, Cillian Sheridan managed eight goals and four assists in 14 league appearances.

Having joined the Polish club from Omonia Nicosia of Cyprus back in February, the former Celtic striker hit the ground running — helping his new side challenge for the Ekstraklasa title only to finish runners-up.

This term, the 28-year-old Cavan man has shown no signs of letting up. Yesterday, he scored a simple tap-in as Jagiellonia defeated Korona Kielce 3-2 away from home.

Ireland manager Martin O’Neill, who this afternoon names his squad for next month’s World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Serbia, remains reluctant to give three-time capped Sheridan a recall to the international set-up, however.
