ADIDAS ARE TO become Cork City Football Club’s official kit supplier once again.

The SSE Airtricity League Premier Division leaders announced today that they have signed a three-year deal with the brand which will begin at the end of the 2017 season.

“We are delighted to announce our new technical partnership with the leading global brand in adidas. This brings us to the cutting edge of sports performance and we are really looking forward to working together over the coming years,” said Lisa Fallon, Cork City’s business development manager.

“I know that our supporters will have very fond memories of some of the iconic adidas kits worn by the club in the past, and we all look forward to seeing the exciting range of playing kit, training apparel and fanwear that will be available.”

Details of the 2018 team jerseys and other training apparel are to be revealed in the coming weeks, with merchandise set to be available before Christmas.

Cork City chairman Pat Lyons said: “We are very pleased at the announcement of this new partnership and we look forward to a successful working relationship with adidas over the next three seasons.

“This is an exciting and positive time for the club on and off the pitch, and this partnership is further evidence of the progress being made.”

adidas provided Cork City’s kit for the first 15 years of the club’s existence — from 1984 to 1999. The club has since had spells with Le Coq Sportif, O’Neill’s, Hummel and Nike, who currently supply City’s kits through Teamwear Ireland.

James Osborne, director of clubs at adidas, said: “We’re looking forward to partnering with Cork City FC from the 2018 season. We’re excited to provide an innovative kit to help the team create on the pitch and fanwear to involve the club’s supporters.”
