CORK AND CLARE will meet again in the All-Ireland hurling final replay at 5pm on Saturday 28 September, the GAA confirmed this afternoon.

The Munster neighbours finished level, 0-25 to 3-16, after a thrilling contest in a sold-out Croke Park yesterday.

It is the second successive year that the hurling season has been extended by a few weeks.

Prior to the drawn final between Kilkenny and Galway in 2012, the last time the hurling decider ended in a stalemate was in 1959.

Although last year’s replay was held on the final Sunday of September, an agreement between the GAA and the LGFA means that this year’s ladies football finals will not be rescheduled and instead take place as planned in Croke Park on Sunday 29th, the day after the hurling.

The decision to schedule an evening throw-in this year was decided following consultation with An Garda Síochána, the GAA said.

Extra-time will be played if required.
