'Gonna hit 'em with Connor Wickham and if not, man, we got Scott Dann!'

We’ll hit you on the break when we hardly ever threaten
Knocking Prem teams out – 25% possession”

IT’S NOT OFTEN you come across a football-themed rap.

It’s even more rare when you come across one that’s really good.

So, let’s all take a moment and breathe in this work of genius from Ben Bailey Smith – otherwise known as Doc Brown.

The actor and comedian is also pretty nifty when it comes to dropping some rhymes, especially when it comes to his favourite team.

With Crystal Palace preparing for their FA Cup showdown with Manchester United, Smith has come up with an unofficial song for their Wembley decider and it’s terrific.

“When we’re down at Wembley, we ain’t giving up
We want more than the Zenith Data Systems Cup.
See, the spirit of Wright and Bright is back, son.
And Andy Gray…not him – the cool, black one.”

Immense.

Also, check out the subtle but sensationally-retro t-shirt that Smith spots in the video.

‘Fresh Prince of Hilaire’ – that’s a reference to Vince Hilaire who played with the club in the late-1970s and early-1980s.
