ANGEL DI MARIA WAS given the man-of-the-match award in Man United’s hard-fought 2-1 victory over Everton, however David de Gea has a right to feel hard done by, owing to his similarly superb display.

The goalkeeper made a string of important saves, particularly from the effort below late on, as United hung on for a win.

Moreover, he also is now the first goalkeeper to have saved a Leighton Baines penalty in Premier League history.
