Australian rugby league player scores incredible flying try

Today’s NRL match between Manly Sea Eagles and Wests Tigers featured this superb athleticism by David Nofoaluma.

HE’S STILL ONLY 19 but Australian rugby league player David Nofoaluma made sure the world knows his name with this superb gravity-defying try in the NRL on Monday:

Here it is broken down step-by-step.

Nofoaluma (circled) is hardly even in the picture when Benji Marshall floats his kick into the air.

It’s up there somewhere.

As the ball drops over the try line, Nofoaluma springs above the head of Jorge Taufua to catch it.

Taufua isn’t going to let him score so easily though and shoves him towards the touchline.

Look at the position of Nofoaluma’s body as he starts to come down.

He tilts and reaches downwards…

…stretching…

…before grounding the ball with his feet still high in the air.

It’s just as impressive from the other angle.

Nofoaluma’s try couldn’t save Wests Tigers who went on to lose 36-18 against the Manly Sea Eagles. Still, if we scored a try like that, we’d be boasting about it forever. His response?

“Thanks everyone for your kind tweets, unlucky with the loss & thanks again to everyone for your support for the boys to tonight.”
