Memphis Depay opened his United account in last night's win over San Jose

Juan Mata and Andreas Pereira were also on target.

NEW SIGNING MEMPHIS Depay scored his first goal as a Manchester United player during a 3-1 win against MLS side San Jose Earthquakes overnight.

Juan Mata opened the scoring for United just after the half-hour mark in their International Champions Cup pre-season tournament game at the Avaya Stadium in California.

Four minutes later, Depay — a summer signing from PSV Eindhoven — took advantage of a wayward backpass to double United’s advantage.

Shortly before the break, San Jose’s Shea Salinas cut through the United defence from the right to set up a goal for Fatai Alashe.

In the 61st minute, Brazilian youngster Andreas Pereira also scored his first United goal, heading in from close range to seal a 3-1 victory.
