Diego Costa lucky to avoid a red card after nasty stamp on Emre Can

It is not the first time the Spanish international has been the subject of controversy this season.

CHELSEA STRIKER DIEGO Costa was fortunate to avoid punishment after appearing to deliberately stamp on Emre Can’s ankle tonight in the Londoners’ League Cup semi-final with Liverpool.

It is not the first time Costa has been the subject of controversy this season, and he was also involved in a tunnel altercation with Jordan Henderson after the first-leg encounter between the sides.

He was later arguably unlucky not to win his side a penalty, following a clumsy challenge by Martin Skrtel.
