There’s more football in Croke Park this evening after the curtain-raiser earlier between Kildare and Donegal. Now it’s the turn of Dublin to face Cork. The fireworks display to mark the 100 years of Croke Park celebrations have ended and both teams are out on the pitch undergoing their warm-up for the second of tonight’s games.

Here’s the Dublin team that new manager Jim Gavin has named for the game.

The Cork team has also been named with three changes from the side that was announced on Thursday night. Thomas Clancy (Clonakilty) and Thomas Clancy (Fermoy) come into the defence for Michael Shields and Graham Canty.

While 2007 All-Ireland U21 winning captain Andrew O’Sullivan from Castletownbere replaces Alan O’Connor at midfield.

One other change we neglected to mention in the Cork team is John O’Rourke in at left half-forward for Ciaran Sheehan. O’Rourke’s inclusion means there are four debutantes in the Rebels side with the two Thomas Clancy’s and Damien Cahalane the other fresh faces.

There are two additions to the Dublin substitutes with Philly Ryan of St Brigid’s and Cian O’Sullivan of Kilmacud Crokes being named on the bench.

Dublin 0-1 Cork 0-0: 1 mins – First blood to Dublin with Bernard Brogan on the mark as he fires over a point.

There’s been two changes to the Dublin team with Emmett O Conghaile starting at midfield instead of Declan O’Mahony while Paul Mannion is in at corner-forward for Kevin McManamon.

Dublin 0-2 Cork 0-1: 4 mins – Cork get back on level terms with a fine point by newcomer John O’Rourke off his left but then Diarmuid Connolly arcs over a long-range score, via the upright, for Dublin.

Dublin 0-3 Cork 0-1: 6 mins – First point of the game for St Brigid’s Paddy Andrews sends Dublin clear by two.

The Dublin substitutes for tonight’s game are Shane Supple, Tomas Brady, David Byrne, Shane Carthy, Cormac Costello, Craig Dunleavy, Chris Guckian, Dara Nelson, Ciaran Reddin, Philly Ryan and Cian O’Sullivan.

While the Cork substitutes are David Lordan, John McLoughlin, Eoin O’Mahony, Noel O’Leary, Michael Shields, Denis O’Sullivan, Graham Canty, Alan O’Connor, Ciaran Sheehan, Barry O’Driscoll and Mark Collins.

Dublin 0-4 Cork 0-1: 11 mins – Bernard Brogan clips over another point for Dublin after evading Jamie O’Sullivan.

Dublin 0-4 Cork 1-1: 13 mins – Goal for Cork as they hit the net through Aidan Walsh. John O’Rourke punted a ball in for Colm O’Neill who transferred to the inrushing Walsh and the Kanturk man finished decisively past Stephen Cluxton.

Dublin 0-5 Cork 1-1: 16 mins – Bernard Brogan taps over a free for Dublin after Paddy Quinn was fouled close to goal.

Cork spurn a chance from a placed ball with Donncha O’Connor’s effort falling short after Colm O’Neill had been fouled.

Dublin 0-7 Cork 1-1: 20 mins – Dublin starting to insert some daylight between the teams. Michael Darragh MacAuley charges through and fists over a point before Paddy Andrews raises his second white flag of the night. Cork struggling to make headway up front.

Dublin 0-7 Cork 1-2: 23 mins – Cork pull a point back with Paul Kerrigan collecting a ball on turn from Donncha O’Connor and smashing over a point with the outside of his right boot.

Dublin 0-7 Cork 1-3: 24 mins – Another point for Paul Kerrigan and this was an excellent effort as he was under pressure from Dublin defenders. Just the minimum between the teams and given the dominance Dublin have exerted, Cork will be glad with that situation.

Bit of a hold up here as Dublin’s Paul Mannion is down injured after a nasty looking clash with his own teammate Paul Flynn.

The medics are still treating Mannion on the pitch and he’s about to be taken off on a stretcher with Philly Ryan coming on to replace him.

Dublin 0-9 Cork 1-3: 34 mins – Ryan makes an instant impression for Dublin as he punches the ball between the posts and then Jack McCaffrey races clear to split the posts.

There’ll be six minutes of additional time after the hold up for the treatment to Dublin’s Paul Mannion.

Dublin 0-10 Cork 1-4: 37 mins – John O’Rourke does excellently to fire over a point from distance for Cork but then McCaffrey sprints forward again for Dublin to land another point.

Dublin 0-11 Cork 1-4: 40 mins – Paddy Andrews lashes over his third point of the game for Dublin but then they need goalkeeper Stephen Cluxton to intervene to stop a goal bound effort from John O’Rourke.

Dublin 1-12 Cork 1-6: 44 mins – Dublin hit the net through Diarmuid Connolly from the penalty spot after Philly Ryan was felled when he raced through the Cork defence. Jim Gavin’s side now hold a six-point lead and that’s a more accurate reflection of the dominance they have exerted.

Dublin 1-13 Cork 1-7: 47 mins – Cork pull a point back through a Donncha O’Connor free, their first score of the game from a placed ball, after John O’Rourke was hauled down. But then Diarmuid Connolly cancels that out with a lovely point off his left.

Dublin 1-14 Cork 1-7: 49 mins – Paddy Andrews has impressed at the heart of the Dublin attack and that has been illustrated by his fourth point of the game as he weaved his way through the Cork defence.

Cork try to shake things up by bringing in Ciaran Sheehan for Pearse O’Neill while Graham Canty replaces Damien Cahalane, who was limping when he came off.

Dublin 1-14 Cork 2-7: 52 mins – Goal for Cork and a badly needed score it was. Donncha O’Connor confidently tucks home a penalty after Ciaran Sheehan had been tripped by Darren Daly.

Ciaran Reddin joins the Dublin attack as Paddy Quinn makes way.

Alan O’Connor is on for Cork with Fintan Goold making way.

Dublin 1-15 Cork 2-7: 57 mins – Bernard Brogan swings over his fifth point of the game, the latest effort coming from a free.

Dublin 1-16 Cork 2-7: 59 mins – And another point for Brogan, again from a placed ball, which ensures Dublin’s lead has stretched to six points.

Dublin 1-16 Cork 2-8: 60 mins – John O’Rourke’s contribution has been one of the few bright spots in Cork’s performance and he’s just notched his third point from play.

Dara Nelson comes into the Dublin team for Darren Daly while Barry O’Driscoll replaces Aidan Walsh for Cork.

Stephen Cluxton is called into action as he beats away a goal bound drive from Colm O’Neill.

Shane Carthy is on for Dublin instead of Emmet O Conghaile at midfield.

Dublin 1-18 Cork 2-8: 69 mins – Dublin look assured of victory now with Paddy Andrews and Cian O’Sullivan kicking further points.
