THERE WERE NO signs of ring rust as Cain Velasquez (14-2) swept aside the challenge of Travis Browne (18-4-1) to begin the main-card action at UFC 200 tonight at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Competing for the first time since losing his UFC heavyweight title to Fabricio Werdum in June 2015, Velasquez was victorious via TKO with just three seconds of the first round remaining.

Velasquez has endured a difficult run of injuries, which have restricted him to just two outings in the last 33 months prior to tonight’s contest. However, he looked better than ever in a bout which was a challenge too steep for Browne.

The former champion landed often and early, even firing off some spectacular spinning back-kicks. As Velasquez continued to tag his opponent, Browne became unsteady on his feet and the inevitable stoppage came via ground-and-pound at the 4:57 mark.
