Gavin to take charge of All-Ireland Hurling final

The match officials for the upcoming All-Ireland Hurling finals have been named, with Brian Gavin of Offaly taking charge of the senior match.

OFFALY’S BRIAN GAVIN has been confirmed as the referee for the upcoming All-Ireland Hurling final between Tipperary and Kilkenny at Croke Park.

The match on September 4th will be Gavin’s first senior final but he brings with him a wealth of experience, having refereed the All-Ireland Minor final in 2004 and the Under-21 final in 2006.

He has also taken charge of three All-Ireland semi-finals and two Munster finals.

The standby referee will be Barry Kelly of Westmeath, with Johnny Ryan taking charge of the Minor final between Dublin and Galway.
