Hear Holloway's latest amazing rant at reporters

Blackpool boss threatens to quit if he’s fined for making 10 changes to team.

HE’S ONLY DONE it again. Ian Holloway – one of football’s more colourful characters – went OFF on one last night after the 3-2 defeat to Aston Villa.

‘Ollie’ made 10 changes from the Blackppol team that played at the weekend – ahead of a crucial clash with West Ham this weekend.

This afternoon the Premier League has confirmed it is investigating the decision. Holloway fielded an almost completely remodelled starting line-up, which lost out to James Collins’s late header.

The Guardian reports:

The Premier League will write to Blackpool later this week before deciding what action to take. Last year a precedent was set when Wolves were given a suspended £25,000 fine after Mick McCarthy made 10 changes to his side to face Manchester United.

But, while McCarthy admitted he made the alterations in order to give his team the best chance of beating Burnley in the next game, Holloway insisted his side was not weakened and that he had no choice because of the club’s busy schedule.

Asked what his reaction would be if he was fined, he made it clear to reporters:

West Ham manager Avram Grant, for his part, says he has no problem with Blackpool’s decision to make sweeping changes to their starting XI in midweek, according to Sky Sports News.
