Here's one of the many reasons why Real Madrid and Bayern Munich hate each other so much

AHEAD OF TONIGHT’S Champions League semi-final first leg, much has been made of the fact that Bayern Munich and Real Madrid don’t exactly like each other. This little incident in the 1988 European Cup quarter-final might go some way to explaining it.

The man on the ground is Bayern legend Lothar Matthaus. The man stamping on his back and then his face is Real Madrid’s Juanito.

The assault earned Juanito a five-year ban. Still, it’s not exactly the kind of incident you just forgive and forget. Add it to the list…
