The epi-centre of the quake was in Oakham, Rutland.

The Irish National Seismic Network says that earthquakes around Ireland are usually at a magnitude of about 1.5 or 1.8 so this is definitely more significant.

Both of the quakes happened close to the English coastline with the larger registering a 3.3 on the Richter scale.
