SET TO BE one of the biggest events in the history of mixed martial arts, UFC 194 takes place tonight — or in the early hours of tomorrow morning, to be precise — at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The event is headlined by Conor McGregor’s UFC featherweight title unification bout against Jose Aldo, but the rest of the bill — which also includes middleweight champion Chris Weidman’s latest title defence — is also stacked with some of the UFC’s best talent.

How can I watch?

For fans in Ireland, there are two places to see the main-card action live. BT Sport 2 is the only TV channel broadcasting UFC 194 — which requires a Setanta Sports subscription. The event can also be purchased from €15.99 to watch online via

The main card, which features Conor McGregor and his Straight Blast Gym team-mate Gunnar Nelson, starts at 3am Irish time. Nelson is in the second of five fights on the broadcast for his bout against Demian Maia. McGregor and Aldo are up last — at approximately 5am.

The three fights on the broadcast of the TV prelims — which starts at 1am — will also be available to watch on BT Sport 2. There are also three early prelims at 11.30pm but you’ll need a subscription to Fight Pass, the UFC’s online broadcast platform, to watch them. A Fight Pass subscription will set you back €7.99 per month.
