Enda Stevens (Sunderland 0-1 Aston Villa)
The former Shamrock Rovers full-back, who joined the Villains in January, came on as a 71st-minute substitute to make his first Premier League appearance for the club. Stephen Ireland and Ciaran Clark started for the visitors while John O’Shea and James McClean (sub) featured on the losing side.
Npower Championship
Andy Keogh (Nottingham Forest 1-4 Millwall)
Irish winger Keogh wrapped up Millwall’s highest away win in three years by scoring their fourth at the City Ground. Simon Cox had set up strike partner Billy Sharp for Forest’s goal in a team which Andy Reid also featured from the start. David Forde was in goal for the Lions.
Conor Sammon (Derby 4-1 Blackpool)
The ex-UCD and Derry City striker scored his second goal of the season for the Rams in their 4-1 win over Blackpool. U21 international Jeff Hendrick again began in midfield for the hosts.
Sean Scannell (Huddersfield 1-0 Bristol City)
22-year-old Scannell scored the only goal of the game as the Terriers moved up to seventh in the Championship table.
Mick McCarthy (Birmingham 0-1 Ipswich)
A special mention for the former Ireland boss, who got his career with the Tractor Boys off to a winning start at St Andrew’s.
FA Cup first round
Billy Clarke (Metropolitan Police 1-2 Crawley Town)
Cork native Billy Clarke brought the Metropolitan Police’s cup dream to an end by notching the winner (and his fifth goal of the season) for Crawley.
Barry Corr (Southend 3-0 Stockport)
The former Leeds United youth fired in the opener in his first start for a year and a half for League Two outfit Southend.
James Berrett (Carlisle 4-2 Ebbsfleet United)
Berrett, capped at U21 level for Ireland, was on hand to score Carlisle’s third at home to Ebbsfleet.
