FORMER NORTHAMPTON SAINTS and Munster inside centre James Downey has been named as part of Andy Wood’s coaching ticket at Clontarf.
The 36-year-old Dubliner retired from professional rugby in 2016 having spent seasons with Glasgow and Wasps after departing the southern province.
A player-coach with Monkstown last season, the one-time Ireland international replaces long-serving Simon Broughton as backs coach for last season’s beaten finalists, with the Kiwi taking up an elite player development role with Leinster.
Former Ireland international scrum-half Tania Rosser will continue as head coach of Clontarf’s J1 team.
